The Current elected officials are not qualified to be the next Mayor of Los Angeles! Rev1
A good argument against current administration officials running for mayor is that Wendy Greuel who has been in the city council since 2012 and is "all of a sudden" finding problems as controller and as a now mayoral candidate that she didn't seem to notice as a council member for over 9 years. That Eric Garcetti has been "at the helm of city council for over a decade of decline and deterioration." That Jan Perry is much like the others she has been in office since 2001. That Austin Beutner can't possibly escape blame after having run 13 city departments, with the position of First Deputy Mayor and Chief Executive for Economic and Business Policy, as well as General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power 1994-1996. (Austin Beutner has withdrawn from the race). None of them have objected or put up an argument while in office against the policies that have brought Los Angeles to the verge of bankruptcy and total economic disaster, the worst in 8 decades.
And that LA’s outgoing Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa makes a strong argument for letting a complete outsider give it a go. An outsider has no allegiance to the political machine. Los Angeles must start with a clean slate at City Hall. From the current list of candidates, I can see only two outsiders that are qualified; YJ Draiman & Kevin James.
We have an opportunity to elect and put in Los Angeles City Hall a new Mayor and 8 out of the 15 Councilmen that are up for election. This could change the face of the administration drastically and bring about a change of operation, where sound decisions and transparency will be the new mandate for LA City Hall.
The mayor of the city of Los Angeles must be a leader like no other leader, he must be an exceptional administrator and trustworthy. He must have top notch advisers to advice him in bringing LA to economic health. A city of Los Angeles with about 4 million people and spans an area of 465 square miles that has an economic engine that by far surpasses many countries; it is an enormous responsibility and must be managed properly.
If LA keeps taxing its people to death there will be nobody left in the city to collect taxes from. Many people and businesses are leaving the city in droves.

Response to US restricting free speech – YJ Draiman
Dear Reader,
Apparently we have come full circle. 1936 is here again. The foundations of our democracy are under attack - the hallmark of America is the right to assemble, petition the government, speak out against injustice, and to practice our religions. The hallmark of the National Socialistic and/or Communist Society is to demonize people who disagree and the limit association and expression.
The attempt to thwart the growing trend in guardianship abuse - illustrated by the various complaints against those who defend it, the various cases in Arizona and a host of similar prosecutions is chilling. The attempt to force the Catholic Church to pay for procedures and policies that are abhorrent to their religious beliefs is chilling. The bias against presidential candidates because of their religious beliefs is chilling. However, the 'hue and cry' that all Americans should be raising does not exist and as it was in 1936 no one cares!
Senior citizens being deprived of their liberty, their property, their civil rights, and their human rights do not even raise a stir in the media. A Zillion dollars of waste and corruption created by ineffective and flawed programs is sweep under the rug - Even the Tea Party is silent as society loses the human capital of its seniors who the new order desires to strip of the gold in their teeth and warehouse.
What are most disturbing are the names of the people who are intimately involved in the new order and the concerted efforts to strip America of its liberty and its citizens of their First and Fifth Amendment Rights. Some of the people intimately involved in the deprivation of seniors of the liberty, property, civil and human rights are children of the victims of Nazi and Communist Holocaust. Of course, this also occurred in 1934, 1935 and 1936 etc! It has been reported that the first victim of the guillotine was its inventor.

The Survival of Humankind, and Improving the World, Society, and Yourself!
Yet who can the world trust to be idealistic and moral enough to help all of humanity and the environment, and at the same time, be practical enough to make extremely difficult decisions that can and will harm a great deal of people?
Humanitism is a philosophy for the continued survival and perpetuation of the human race. Humanitists (people who believe in humanitism) do not have the luxury of trying again after failing. Humanitists must be more vigilant than environmentalists, because we will not have a second chance at survival.
The survival of humanity is more important than the well being of our environment; however the environment is necessary for humanity to survive. That does not give the right for big businesses to continue doing whatever they want with only minimal or no consideration for the environment, so long as our surroundings support human life. We need to protect the environment for the continued survival and future well being of humanity. Keep in mind that without the human race, there would be no one and no need to protect the environment. Therefore, humanitism is more important than environmentalism.
It seems that in the past 50 years the human race has pursued the money train, that such desire for financial gain has caused society to ignore and abandon honesty, values, morality and candidness etc.
The race to financial gain has caused our leaders and the executives of the corporate world to disregard laws, ethics and the caring for each other and humanity as a whole. Deception, fraud and outright theft are their new motto all for the sake of financial gain, personal ego, fame and success.
It seems that for the sake of success and profit people will step on anybody, family friends, co-workers and anyone who stands in their way or take advantage of anyone that could help them achieve what they want.
That is not to say that honest and compassionate people who care do not exist, where honesty and integrity is a way of life for them, but they are a very small minority.
As we begin the year 2013, we should all look at the past and decide with determination that everyone will from now on contribute to the betterment of humanity, society and mankind.
We should all learn to live with each other and respect each other for the sustainability of mankind. Humanity should strive for harmony, tranquility and peace
